You shall now hear the joyful sounds of music...

Well, almost. Here is the organ when we got it home and set up in the living room. Looks nice, doesn't it?

Here it is with its guts hangin' out. And my brilliant husband, who immediately found the problem with the sound and will (fingers crossed) fix it right up. Isn't he smart?

Here is our conversation before dinner:
Him: Well, I'll bring some of my wires and thingies (may not be his exact words) home from work and I'll work on it tomorrow night.
Me: Tomorrow night?
Him: Yeah, tomorrow.
Me: Not, tomorrow night?
Him: Umm..yeah. Tomorrow night.
Me: Surely, you don't mean tomorrow? HINT HINT HINT
Him: (sheepish grin) Okay, probably any other night but tomorrow.

Yep, it's our anniversary folks! 6 long years of marriage, and every one of them wonderful! We aren't doing gifts this year, but instead going to go back to Annapolis to stay at a bed-and-breakfast right on Main Street. It's literally steps away from where we got married on Church Circle. The inn is shaped like a wedge, because it was built in one of the "spokes" that run off Church Circle, in between two streets. It's called Maryland Inn and is part of the Historic Inns of Annapolis. Of course, we have to work Tuesday and Wednesday so we're planning on doing this on Friday night. We'll spend Friday walking around downtown Annapolis, enjoying the waterfront and checking out all the cute little shops, and have a wonderful dinner at one of the tiny little bistros on Main Street.
I'm excited about this because my wonderful husband came up with the idea, made the reservations, and basically took care of the whole thing. Plus, we always do the traditional gifts for our anniversaries and I was having trouble with this one! The 6th year is iron. I already gave him golf clubs years ago, and all I could think of was a weight bench. I wasn't sure if that was very romantic. Gee honey, remember when your arms were massive, and you could bench press me? Well, get to work! Normally, we're not so literal when it comes to the gifts, but I really couldn't come up with anything creative...at all.
The best part about our anniversaries in my opinion is our book. The first anniversary is Paper, and I bought us a red leather journal. Every year we write a letter to each other. Every year, I love reading over the previous years' love notes and marveling over how much has happened in our lives together. What a precious thing that book will be as the years pass by. By the time we get to our 50th, we'll have a ten volume set!
