WAPF Chapter meetings

Every month, our local Anne Arundel County Chapter of the Weston A. Price Foundation meets in Annapolis. In the summer months we meet in Quiet Waters Park, in winter we usually meet at someone's house. This week we met at The Art Space, owned by one of our Chapter leaders. They do children's (and adult) ballet classes, drama, music, and yoga. It's a very cute place, and we all sat in a circle in the studio on little carpet cushions.
I love these monthly meetings! We usually vote on the topic we'd like to discuss that month ahead of time. Back in February we talked about organic gardening, because that is the time that you would start some of your early spring veggies, and start hardening off seedlings. One month we discussed the GAPS Diet by Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride. This month and last, one of our chapter leaders was filling us in on what she learned at the annual WAPF conference. Did you know that we are probably all iodine deficient? Dr. David Brownstein has written a couple books on the topic, and they are on my list of things to read after Christmas.
One of the best things about the chapter meetings is that I get to meet with like-minded people who don't look at me like I'm crazy when I say I don't eat anything with high fructose corn syrup in it, or that I prefer not to microwave my food. Or that I drink kombucha! I learn so much every month, too.
Find out if there is a chapter in your area! You don't have to be a member of the WAPF to join in on the fun :). Click here to look up Local Chapters in the U.S. and other countries. And here is a shortcut to all the great articles on the WAPF website.

Thanks Dan! That website is a great resource - I'll have to add the link to my sidebar.
