Back from Missouri and Louisiana

I know, I know, I haven't updated this thing in a while. Gotta start somewhere, so how about lots of pictures of the adorable niece and nephew? With a few of the rest of the fam thrown in...

I flew to St. Louis, where Katie and the kids picked me up and we did some grocery shopping for our road trip to Louisiana the next day. She needed a haircut, so I took David and Annaliese across the street to a super fancy mall to walk around. There wasn't a whole lot of kid-friendly stores there, so we just walked and talked and then stopped for a treat.

Somebody is happy about his cookie and creme soda!

The baby slept the whole time, just waking up for a diaper change. Way to break in Auntie slowly :). Turns out she was teething - she had one tooth come in on the 12 hour drive down to La, and one come in on the drive back. No kidding!

Annaliese started trying to crawl! Isn't that the cutest little behind in the air?

Liking her new cloth diapers:

We headed down to Louisiana, stopping in Memphis the first night. We met up with a friend of mine for some good 'ole Memphis ribs:

Finally in La., Mom holding her granddaughter

and cuddling with her grandson

Emily and Andy cooked us a fabulous dinner one night of seared yellowfin tuna and hand-rolled sushi with a fancy cucumber salad (even a special gluten-free version just for me). Yum!

I didn't get a picture of the tuna cooked and served, but it was a spectacular presentation. I was very impressed with Andy after this meal!

Keeping the baby occupied so Katie could eat. She loved Mom's green silicone spatula:

The baby was fascinated with the doggies - she kept grabbing their fur and trying to pull them toward her to "taste" them:

Bowling with David, Mom and Emily:

Jen's wedding - I didn't get many good pics since I was too busy having fun:

Me and the beautiful bride

Kiddos cuddling with Aunt Emily

Didn't take pictures at brunch with Dad! Bummer...

Stopping at a park in Jackson, MS on the way back to Missouri:

The day after we got back, we slept 'til 10, had a late breakfast, then took books and a soccer ball to the park to chill.

Making almond flour pancakes...

...before we headed out to the Cardinal's game:

Out to dinner afterward:

Handsome boy in his new Cardinals' gear

Cutie pie in his stripey pj's, ready for a bedtime story:

Standing!

David and I spent the afternoon together at the libary and the park. This is the only pic I got, but if you look closely, you can see a nice red lump on his forehead starting to form where he smacked his head on the playground equipment :(. Poor thing hit his head 4 times in as many days!

Spending the morning at the art museum...

Excited to go into the "boiler room" to check out the swords and armor. This boy loves knights and anything medieval!

Taking a break on the grass before taking me to the airport:

Annaliese really wasn't sure she liked the feel of the grass...

She kept leaning into David, trying to get her hands and feet off the ground all at once. It was hilarious!

Makin' eyes at Aunt Sarah

Brother tickling her stomach

There's so many more pictures, but it takes for-e-ver to upload them with blogger and that's all I have patience for! Hopefully Katie will put all of them up on Shutterfly soon :).

Oh- I love your pictures!!! You got some really good shots of David and Annaliese :) I am so glad you got to come down for the wedding- that was such a fun visit.
I love how David is winking in that bowling picture... I've been noticing him doing that more and more lately :) And I LOVE their matching outfits on your drive back... that ruffled skirt on Annaliese is just too cute!
I didn't know you guys went to a Cardinal's game- that looked like fun!
It also looks like you had perfect weather once you got back to Missouri- I can just feel that crisp grass. I do love that picture with Annaliese trying to lift her hands and feet off of the ground- too funny! She must not have been too sure about that feel!
