Happy New Year!
12.31.2010
I didn't want to leave the last post at the top any longer.
No matter what happens, my only wish for this year is that this adoption works out and we bring home a baby in 2011.
2010 was a hard year, although there were some really good parts. Highlights were...
...I got to quit my job, and Chris started a new one!
...no funerals to attend!
...no surgery!
...we celebrated our 8th anniversary!
All four of those were pretty huge :).
My job was horribly stressful, and basically sucked all the joy out of my life for the last few years. Being able to finally quit was amazing. Chris changed jobs as well, and is having a great time in his new one.
Chris lost both of his parents and his grandfather in the last three years. It was really rough seeing his family dwindle in size, and we've missed them incredibly. We've really enjoyed getting to spend more time with his sister Natalie the last few months, and we're very happy that we get to visit his grandmother in Florida at the end of this month (We're driving down after Chris' work conference in Atlanta).
It's been 1 year and 9 months since my 3rd (and hopefully last) surgery. I am so thankful to no longer be in pain. Life is a lot easier to handle when you feel good every day :).
And..last but not least...we have been married for 8 years! I'm so thankful for my wonderful husband each and every day.
I won't bother with the rough parts of 2010. Part of celebrating the New Year is putting the past behind us.
Here's hoping that 2011 brings us a lot of joy (and a bundle of joy would be nice too).
Happy New Year!!!
